Having studied and trained extensively in China, including years of professional training and academic research in Chinese martial arts, I offer instruction that combines authentic tradition with a modern, practical approach.
Whether your goal is better health, stress reduction, improved balance, personal development, or a deeper understanding of Chinese movement culture, training can be adapted to your individual needs and experience level.
Training options:
Taijiquan for Beginners
Always wanted to try Taijiquan but didn’t know where to start? This course is designed for complete beginners. Together, we’ll build a solid foundation step by step, learning correct posture, relaxation, body alignment, coordination, and the basic principles that make Taijiquan unique. No previous experience is needed—just comfortable clothing and a willingness to learn something new.
Traditional Taijiquan Forms
Traditional forms are where the art reveals its depth. In this course, you’ll learn authentic Taijiquan routines passed down through generations, along with the principles, applications, and training methods behind the movements. Rather than simply copying a sequence, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of how and why the form works. Suitable for students who want to explore Taijiquan beyond the basics and experience its rich tradition. I am a long-term practitioner of the Hong (洪氏) family lineage of Chen-style Taijiquan under Master Xie Yelei (谢业雷), and a second-generation lineage holder of Southern Taijiquan (南氏太极拳) under Master Xu Chang Wen (徐昌文).
Health Qigong
Slow down, breathe, and reconnect with your body. Health Qigong combines gentle movements, breathing exercises, and mental focus to improve flexibility, balance, mobility, and overall wellbeing. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels, including complete beginners
Standardized Taijiquan Forms
Learn internationally recognized Taijiquan routines taught around the world. Whether your goal is personal practice, competition, teaching, or simply learning a complete form, I’ll guide you through each movement and explain not only what to do, but also why it is done that way.
Taijiquan for Health and Wellbeing
Taijiquan is much more than a martial art. It can help improve balance, coordination, posture, body awareness, and mental calmness. These classes focus on using Taijiquan as a practical tool for better everyday health, while still respecting its traditional roots.
Competition preparation
Whether you’re considering your first competition or already competing, this course will help you improve your forms, performance, and results.? I can help you prepare your routine, improve technical details, understand judging criteria, and build the confidence needed for competition. Drawing on my experience as both a competitor (European champion in traditional styles) and an international judge, I’ll help you perform at your best.
Form Correction and Refinement
Already know a form but feel something is missing? Sometimes small adjustments make the biggest difference. Together, we’ll refine posture, body mechanics, transitions, timing, coordination, and overall expression to help your movements become smoother, more natural, and more effective.
Whether you practice Taijiquan, Health Qigong, Changquan, Nanquan, traditional styles, or weapon forms, I can help you identify weaknesses, improve technical details, and bring your performance to the next level.
